This release significantly extends rotary support with new Indexed Plate and Linear Plate (passthrough) modes, improves Text/Layout behavior, and fixes a number of stability and rasterization bugs. New books were also added. This is the first official native Linux (AppImage) release.
If the AppImage fails with error loading libfuse.so.2, install FUSE: sudo apt install libfuse2t64 || sudo apt install libfuse2.
If the app can't reach the serial port (GRBL/grblHAL/FluidNC controller), add yourself to the dialout group: sudo usermod -aG dialout $USER, then reboot — logging out alone is not always enough.
The LaserBase software and the public Knowledge Reader remain free to use. The new LaserBase Encyclopedia is available
with separate access through the built-in Encyclopedia reader.
The Encyclopedia is organized into volumes and chapters covering engraving physics, machine architecture, digital
preparation, technologies, diagnostics, terminology and laser safety. After installing the access file, the
Encyclopedia can be opened directly from the application.
The LaserBase download page and release system have been updated. Current, RC, and LBVE are now available as separate, verified release channels.
For normal use, **LaserBase 2.2 Current** is the recommended release. **RC** is the preview testing release. **LBVE** is available as a separate portable tool for fiber validation and diagnostics.
